November's LIVE Night Vision topic is Archeoastronomy.

How much did Native American cultures in the southwestern United States know about astronomy? We’ve all heard of Stonehenge in England, a megalithic monument built to measure the summer and winter solstices among other things. Did the ancient cultures of the Four Corners area also track the sun and seasons? What evidence exists among the ruins they left behind? November’s Night Vision will explore the Ancient Puebloan and Fremont cultures, their ruins, and the petroglyphs and pictographs that remain.

“Night Vision” is Clark Planetarium’s live starshow series. On these special nights, Clark Planetarium educators or guest speakers unleash the Hansen Dome Theatre’s suite of advanced modeling and multimedia tools to explore a range of astronomical topics.

Shows typically begin with a simulated celestial tour of our seasonal Utah skies, and then journey away from home to explore planets, moons, stars, galaxies, or crazy cosmic phenomena. These live, interactive shows are great for curious minds of all ages, and audiences are encouraged to ask questions.
